SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
FRIDAY, JUNE 19, 2009
8:00 AM
Pres. Stork called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. All rose for Pledge of Allegiance. Present at roll call: Stork, Sutherland, Cooper, Stirrett, Wolak. Absent: Clark. Coenen arrives at 8:02 am. Also present: Police Chief Howard Smith, Detective James Sharp.

MOTION by Sutherland, seconded by Stirrett, to approve agenda as presented.

1. ARMADA FAIR POWER SPORTS WEEKEND PAYROLL
The Council discussed the employees who worked the weekend of the Armada Fair’s Power Sports weekend. The Chief hired two people to check ID’s at the beer tent and also used current employees to patrol. There is no signed agreement/contract for this arrangement, nor for the Fair, but the Chief and Trustee Wolak stated there has never been. President Stork stated that she feels there is a need for an agreement if the Police continue to patrol these events. The Auditors recommended getting Council’s approval for this payroll.
MOTION by Cooper, seconded by Coenen, to approve payment for the employees who worked the Armada Fair’s Power Sports weekend (June 5 – 7) with the hours and or rates approved and submitted by the Police Chief.

Nays: None
Absent: Clark CARRIED
MOTION by Cooper, seconded by Sutherland, to adjourn the meeting at 8:12 pm.
